Armenians of Ukraine thank Swedish parliamentMarch 15, 2010 - 12:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenians of Ukraine are thankful to the members of Parliament of Sweden (the Riksdag) for adoption of a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, said Ashot Avanesyan, President of the National Congress of Armenians of Ukraine. “We will always remember your historical decision,” the Congress said in a letter to the Riksdag members, Analitika.at.ua reported. On March 11, the Swedish parliament passed the resolution on recognition of the genocide of Armenians, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Pontiac Greeks with a vote 131-130. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
