Levon Aronian defeated 0,5:1,5 by Amber tournament leader

PanARMENIAN.Net - In the 4th round of Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament, The Ukrainian grandmaster Vasily Ivanchuk defeated last year’s winner Levon Aronian 1,5-0,5.

After four rounds of the tournament, Aronian shares 7-10 places with Sergei Karjakin (Russia), Peter Svidler (Russia) and Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan).

Magnus Carlsen and Vasily Ivanchuk are tied for first in the overall standings with 6 points from 8 games.

Levon Aronian (born on October 6, 1982 in Yerevan) is an Armenian Grandmaster. He is the winner of FIDE Grand Prix in 2008 and 2009 and 2009 World Rapid Chess Champion. He was honored with Movses Khorenatsi order in 2006 and with an order of merit in 2008.
