NEW DEPOSITS OF MINERALS DISCOVERED IN NAGORNO KARABAKHNovember 19, 2001 - 21:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - After activation of works on exploration of bowels geologists of Nagorno Karabakh discovered new deposits of minerals. As reported by "Arminfo" agency, referring to chief of Nagorno Karabakh geological laboratory Khristofor Khachanov, ores of non-ferrous metals and coal reserves were found in Martakert region. Hadrut region is rich in granite and marble. Zinc, lead, copper, gold and pyrite deposits were discovered in Martuni region. Finding gold and Holland spar near Nngi village became a surprise for the geologists. Proposals, which have drawn the Government's attention, are made on the basis of the researches. Building cement, brick and tile factories is planned resting on the proposals made. In the specialists' opinion, developing the riches of Karabakh bowels may become an attractive sphere for investors. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
