INTERNATIONAL MEDIATORS LEAVE THE REGION OPTIMISTICALLY

PanARMENIAN.Net - At a press conference held on the results of the talks in Yerevan Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov, who is member of OSCE Minsk Group peace mission, stated the mediators "leave the region optimistically." In the diplomat's words, the peacemakers have not suggested anything new. "We are working on the formula, which has been discussed in Paris and Key West. A more detailed discussion of the scheme, which the Presidents know well, is held. The novelty of our proposals lies only in the details," - Trubnikov explained. OSCE Minsk Group French Ambassador Phillip de Suremain noted the new initiatives offered by the mediators had been perceived by the leadership of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh with interest. In his words, "some items may appear unacceptable for a party to the conflict," however "all proposals remain in the negotiation agenda."
