Azerbaijan dissatisfied with US![]() April 15, 2010 - 14:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan is dissatisfied with US position as OSCE MG Co-Chair, Ali Hasanov, social and political department chairman at presidential administration stated. As he told a news conference on Thursday, US often assume one-sided position, supporting Armenia. “We urge US to adopt neutral stance, being dissatisfied with the one it took as OSCE MG Co-Chair.” “We repeatedly raised the issue of violation of territorial integrity as well as Azerbaijan’s rights in Karabakh. Unfortunately, some US structures forfeit their neutrality influenced by the Armenian lobby, by showing open support to Armenia.” According to Ali Hasanov, US aim at assisting Armenia in overcoming grave economic situation; at the same time, Washington exerts pressure on neighboring countries, including Turkey, demanding the latter to form political and economic ties with Armenia. “If US seek establishment of regional peace, conflict settlement and economic improvement in Armenia though incorporating it in transnational projects, let them force Yerevan renouce occupational politics,” 1news.az cited him as saying. The position of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan has been unoccupied for about a year. OSCE MG ex-Co- Chair Matthew Bryza was rumored to take up the position; however it remains vacant to the day.
