Aram Safaryan: well-organized elections make NKR independence irreversible![]() May 23, 2010 - 16:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Well-organized elections make independence of the Artsakh Republic irreversible, said Aram Safaryan, secretary of Prosperous Armenia party. “Independence of NKR is the last ‘concession’ the Armenian side can make,” he told journalists in Stepanakert. “International recognition is a long process and we should spare no effort to accelerate it.” Mr. Safaryan also emphasized that the people of NKR should decide on the status and territory they will live in. “Armenia will accept any decision Artsakh takes. We are not a side in the conflict; we just contribute to strengthen the republic’s independence,” he said. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
