The document consists of seven sections and 75 items. The document reflected such issues as national security, military threat in the region, the facts of military aggression, real problems and challenges facing the armed forces of Azerbaijan. The questions of the future strategy of military development, the international military cooperation, military ties, bilateral military treaties and other issues were also indicated there. The draft military doctrine envisages exceptions concerning the location of foreign military bases on the territory of Azerbaijan. The document says that in case of necessity, Azerbaijan reserves such power. Azerbaijan's priorities in the region were stressed in the project. The draft military doctrine reflected the issues of global crises, violent struggle being waged over energy resources, and support for separatism, Trend News reported.
