EU Advisory Group presents report on its activity in ArmeniaJune 11, 2010 - 13:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 11, the EU Advisory Group held its 4th meeting, during which the Group presented a report on its activity in the republic. The meeting was opened by NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan, who described it as a good opportunity to discuss the work carried out and future plans. He also thanked the EU Advisory Group for assistance to the process of reforms effected in Armenia. “I would like to remind that Armenia-EU Action Plan envisages implementation of 190 reforms,” Baghdasaryan said, adding that progress is expected in talks on conclusion of an association agreement and free trade zone creation as well as reorganization of the juridical system. Among achievements he mentioned establishment of diplomatic academy, steps taken for towards visa regime relaxation and legal reforms. The NSC Secretary voiced hope that Armenian organizations will soon have an opportunity to export their products to European markets. For his part, the head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger shared the assessments and presumed that the practice will be applied in other countries as well. “As you know an EU Advisory Group is already operating in Moldova, while the other Eastern Partnership countries are considering such possibility,” he said.
