RA Deputy Foreign Minister, UN Special Rapporteur discuss activity of Armenian Ombudsman’s institution

PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 14, Armenian Deputy Minister Arman Kirakosyan met with UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders Margaret Sekaggya, who arrived in Armenia on invitation of the Armenian government.

Kirakosyan briefed the UN Special Rapporteur on measures undertaken by Armenia to strengthen the human rights institution, attaching importance to the structure’s independent activity.

Besides, the Deputy Minister noted that over 3000 non-governmental organizations are operating in Armenia, the RA MFA press service reported.
