RA President signs bill on introduction of amendments to Law on TV and RadioJune 18, 2010 - 17:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 18, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan singed the bill on introduction of amendments to the RA Law On TV and Radio that was approved by the parliament on June 1, 2010. With ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Heritage party opposing, the bill was adopted through a vote 77 to 13. The bill regulates the process of digitalization of TV and radio broadcasting and envisages reduction of TV channels number from 22 to 18 during the digitalization process, which will be completed by 2015. The bill also reads that the number of private companies may increase only after 2015.
