Michael Spindelegger: I’m in the region not to resolve problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger has stated that the aim of his visit to South Caucasus is not resolution of problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“I usually do not comment on my counterparts’ statements,” he said when asked by a PanARMENIAN.Net to comment on the recent statement by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, who said that “Azerbaijan will give up military rhetoric in case Armenia quits the seized territories.”

“It’s the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs who are dealing with the problem. I’m here to listen to the opinion of parties to conflict to form an opinion about the regional processes. Probably, Karabakh problem will be touched upon during talks on EU association agreement conclusion. Minister Nalbandian has already presented the position of official Yerevan on the issue,” Mr. Spindelegger said.
