Levon Aronyan is fifth on FIDE rating list

PanARMENIAN.Net - FIDE has published rating lists of top 100 chess players.

Armenia’s grandmaster Levon Aronyan is the fifth with 2783 points. Magnus Carlsen (Norway) tops the list with the rating of 2826. He is followed by Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) – 2803, and Viswanathan Anand (India) – 2800.

Armenia’s Vladimir Akopian is the 44th with the rating of 2691 and Gabriel Sargsyan (2673) is the 61st.

As for the women’s list, Armenia’s Lilit Mkrtchyan (2468), Elina Danielyan (2431) and Lilit Galoyan (2384) are the 30th, 52nd and 78th respectively. Polgar Judit tops the list with 2682 points.
