Trade will be permitted within 500 meters from the checkpoint. The discussion initially scheduled for July 3 was postponed till the next governmental meeting, Business Georgia reported. Upper Lars checkpoint was opened on March 1, 2010, as the first diplomatic agreement between Georgia and Russia under Swiss mediation.
