DUTCH PARLIAMENTARIAN CALLS TURKEY AND EUROPARLIAMENT TO RECOGNIZE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

PanARMENIAN.Net - These days the European Parliament discusses Dutch parliamentarian Arie Oostlander's report on Turkey, which contains a call upon the Turkish party and the European Parliament to recognize the Armenian Genocide taken place in the Ottoman Turkey in 1915. As reported by British "Kurdish Media" agency, according to "Arminfo," presenting his report Arie Oostlander noted that the EU doors are open for Turkey, but the Turkish party will have to pass a "stony way" to be granted access to the organization. He noted the availability of serious problems in Turkey, specifically, violation of human rights and civil freedoms. Moreover, Oostlander noted the problematic relations of Turkey with Armenia, Cyprus and Iraq. According to the report, the Kemalist ideology, being developed in contemporary Turkey, prevents the country from entering the EU. It should be noted that the Europarliament members will vote on the Dutch parliamentarian's report today.
