Aram Manukyan: accusations of Karapet Rubinyan addressed to ANM members are baselessJuly 21, 2010 - 16:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the newly elected board of the Armenian National Movement (ANM) Aram Manukyan said that the ANM board, comprising of 31 members, will be actively involved in politics, strengthening and expanding the party’s regional centers, as well as stirring up the activity of its youth wing. Besides, it will actively cooperate with the Armenian National Congress and international structures to bring the issue of political prisoners to the international arena, Manukyan told a press conference in Yerevan. Referring to reasons of withdrawal of former speaker of the RA parliament Karapet Rubinyan from the party, Manukyan said that Rubinyan’s accusations concerning falsification of the ANM board election during the party’s 16th congress are baseless. “The system of our party’s board election is so transparent that falsifications are impossible,” said Manukyan. He added that if Karapet Rubinyan had discrepancies with Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan, he should have voiced them during the party’s congress. Besides, Manukyan doubted that Rubinyan would have acted the same way, if he were elected the ANM board member. As for another accusation of Rubinyan that some amendments were introduced in the opposition’s philosophy of struggle, which were mentioned in the speech of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Manukyan noted that nothing has changed in the opposition’s strategy of struggle.
