Gagik Minasyan names best friends of Armenia’s first presidentJuly 21, 2010 - 16:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the RA NA standing committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs, member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Gagik Minasyan said there is nothing new in the statement of Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Meanwhile, Ter-Petrosyan stated that any development is impossible in Armenia without the Armenian-Turkish normalization and Karabakh conflict resolution. “Unfortunately, there is nothing new for me and many other politicians; it is something new for a range of his allies, who have been following his statements for many years,” Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan on July 21. According to Minasyan, it is the stance, which resulted in the authorities’ change 12 years ago, as this defeatist stance could not lead to any positive thing in Armenia or NKR. “It should be noted that it is the very stance, which is voiced by Azerbaijan and Turkey day after day,” noted Minasyan. The member of the ruling party added that Ter-Petrosyan has limited number of friends, which support this stance - Turkey and Azerbaijan. “However, the world superpowers, including the U.S., EU, France and Russia, are of another opinion – they state that these processes are not anyhow interrelated,” concluded Minasyan.
