Bako Sahakyan appreciated role of church for development of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinityAugust 22, 2010 - 15:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 20, President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan arrived in Lebanon on a working visit. The next day, President Sahakyan met representatives of the Artsakh Fund organization at the permanent representation of the Artsakh Republic in the Republic of Lebanon. He handed in the Gratitude medal for the organization’s contribution to the development of social sector of Artsakh Republic. On the same day President Sahakyan visited Great House of Cilicia Catholicosate in the town of Antelias and met Catholicos Aram I, Lebanese ministers, members of the parliament, local officials of Armenian origin, as well as representatives of different Armenian organizations. Together with His Holiness Aram I, the Artsakh President laid flowers to the Armenian Genocide memorial. The ceremony was followed by talks on Motherland-Diaspora issues and Artsakh’s domestic and foreign policy. Mr. Sahakyan appreciated the role of church for the development of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity. The presidential delegation included adviser to the President of the Artsakh Republic Armen Isagoulov, minister of education and science Vladik Khachatryan, head of the Central Information Department of the Office of the Artsakh Republic President David Babayan, permanent representative of the Artsakh Republic in Lebanon Karo Kebabjan. Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan and ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan also took part in the events, reported Central Information Department of the Office of the Artsakh Republic President.
