He refuted the statement ascribed to him by some media and demanded a disclaimer. “A hundred years ago the Ottoman Empire committed genocide against a certain number of Armenians,” Baghaei was quoted as saying during ‘Iran, a bridge of success’ conference. “The information spread by the media is untrue,” the Vice President said a day after Turkish Foreign Minster Ahmet Davutoglu demanded an explanation. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit.
