Heritage Party: we are the masters of our landSeptember 20, 2010 - 13:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Heritage Party issued a statement on the 19th anniversary of Armenia's independence The statement says, “Dear Compatriots: We congratulate you on the occasion of September 21, one of the most significant days in the millennia-long history of our Motherland. Nineteen years ago today, we jointly expressed our will to have a free and independent state and founded today's Republic of Armenia, with whose rebirth was also tied to Artsakh's independence, whose definitive fulfillment demands the sum total of our collective potential. It was our united quest to create a free and independent state that was to become the guarantor of the rights of each and every citizen, the assurance of the self-realization and well-being of us all, and the embodiment of the shared aspirations of all Armenians. We are the masters of our land. But we, too, are responsible for the fact that not everything is right in our country, and it is likewise our duty to rectify its every wrong. Each and every one of us is accountable for the truth that today our state does not serve all of us equally. And together, we need to make every effort so that only those who are truly worthy are duly chosen to govern, and that the rule of law alone reigns supreme in our country. And the sooner we collectively acknowledge this truth, the greater confidence we will have in the reality that we are building the Armenia which will no longer be a source of emigration but the source of our national pride. We shall have the Homeland that we deserve, and our sacred duty will be to serve it and work for its empowerment.” Top stories President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
