Electric power production grew 17.1% in Armenia in January-August 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - The volume of electric power production totaled 4380mln KW/hour in January-August 2010 in Armenia that is 17.1% higher as compared with the same period in 2009.

According to the RA National Statistical Service, the volume of electric power produced by heat stations totaled 656mln KW/hour that is 45.1% higher as compared with January-August 2009.

The volume of electric power produced by hydropower plants grew by 40.6%, totaling 1880.5mln KW/hour during the reporting period, while 5.6% drop was recorded in energy production by the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, amounting to 1840.9mln KW/hour.

Besides, 7.1% and 23.8% decline was recorded in the electric energy production by wind power stations and thermal power plants compared to last year, amounting to 2.6mln KW/hour and 416.8thous. hectojoules respectively.
