Vanes Martirosyan: I will be the first to knock Manny Pacquiao downOctober 8, 2010 - 13:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The premier trainer in boxing Freddie Roach has put out another USD1000 bounty on his superstar fighter Manny Pacquiao's head. If the Filipino icon is dropped by any of his sparring partners, they will collect the bounty. So far Roach hasn't had to pay up but undefeated junior middleweight Vanes Martirosyan (28-0, 17KO) feels he will be the first to knock Pacquiao down. Martirosyan will be leaving for the Philippines soon to help Pacquiao prepare for Antonio Margarito and prepare for his own fight versus Pawel Wolak on December 4th. "I am up for Freddie's challenge. I will be the first to drop Manny," said the Glendale, California based Armenian. Martirosyan, part of Roach's stable of fighters that includes Pacquiao, Amir Khan and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. among others, is an ultra confident fighter who never backs down from a challenge. He doesn't want his comments to be misconstrued. "I respect Manny a lot and I have learned a lot from him. He is a great fighter but I feel I am up to the challenge," Martirosyan continued. "That is why I always say I want to fight the best. I want to prove how good I am. It doesn't get much better than sparring with Manny Pacquiao. I hope some of these other champions man up and accept my challenge," boxingscene.com cited Martirosyan as saying.
