20 ARMENIAN-TURKISH ENTERPRISES OPERATE IN ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turnover of commodities between Armenia and Turkey makes about 250 million dollars a year. Third Secretary of Turkey Department at the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia Sahak Sargsyan provided this information to "Arka" agency. In his words, the data is approximate, as there is no official statistics. Turkish unofficial sources say 150 million. Sargsyan noted that from 1993 to 1995 the balance of goods turnover was positive for Armenia, but recently export from Armenia has sharply decreased against the background of increase in import of Turkish goods. He also noted that nearly 20 Armenian-Turkish joint enterprises operate in Armenia - mainly in the sphere of food production and light industry. There are also enterprises, which are established on the basis of Turkish capital, but are presented by third countries.
