President Sargsyan took a walk along the town’s central street to congratulate the residents, a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent reported from the scene. Goris, situated amidst green mountains 240 km from Yerevan, is one of the beautiful tourist destinations in the country. Goris is popular for the large number of carved rock dwellings. It is also home to the Axel Bakunts museum, one of Armenia’s great prose writers, who died in prison in 1937.
