Who asked Sammut to show ways towards peaceful settlement to Karabakh conflict zone population?

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the NKR National Assembly Standing Committee for Foreign Relations, Vahram Atanesyan commented on the statement by the chief executive of LINKS British NGO Dennis Sammut on Karabakh conflict settlement not proceeding as expected.

“Who asked Sammut to show ways towards peaceful settlement to Karabakh conflict zone population? Possibly, Azeris did. In this situation he can only “show ways” to Azeris,” Atanesyan said.

However, he characterized Sammut’s statement as an example of balanced mediation. “In reality, Sammut is showing the way to Azeris, suggesting a choice between a peace and a war. In his statement, Sammut implies that Azerbaijan has a right for a war, yet offers to access the perspectives of a peaceful settlement.”

'We have understood that the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement does not proceed as expected. We must help people understand that peace is an alternative to war and show ways of peaceful settlement', news.az quoted chief executive of LINKS British NGO Dennis Sammut as saying.
