Vladimir Kazimirov: non-readiness for concessions – a serious impediment for Karabakh conflict settlement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Ambassador Vladimir Kazimirov forecasted a number of developments around Karabakh conflict in his article entitled Compromise above Victory.

“Before the end of 2010, Karabakh conflict will be on political-diplomatic calendar agenda; with the issue to be touched upon at November 7 Azerbaijan parliamentary elections, OSCE Field Assessment Mission work results summarized and possible discussion of Azeri resolution on “occupied territories” at UN General Assembly,” the article says.

“A number of steps, contributing to negotiation process, were planned before the yearend. Serious incidents on the line of contact increased the currency of additional measures to be undertaken by sides to observe ceasefire agreement and create favorable atmosphere for further political dialogue as suggested by Russian, U.S. and French Foreign Ministers on July 17 in Almaty.”

“Non-readiness for concessions is a serious impediment for Karabakh conflict settlement, with internal propaganda promoting the unacceptability of concessions,” Vremya Novostey cited Kazimirov as saying.
