The consulting group meeting on questions of the NATO computer nets, held in Yerevan, has finished. The meeting was dedicated to the NATO scientific program, according to which at the end of this year in Armenia the "Virtual Silk Way" program project will be implemented. The project aims to improve the computer net connections of the scientific and educational institutes of South Caucasus, Central Asia with European regions. According to "Arka" agency information, the project cost is $2.5 million. It will function till 2005. The program director of NATO Science department, Valter Kaffenberger stated, the results of three-day discussion had not been totaled yet. The program director also stated that the line speed would be 3 megabyte/second. According to V. Kaffenberger, the system enables to increase the speed, also the price for a megabyte/sec will be less. According to V.
