Vahe Sargsyan: spy scandal aimed to attract attention to Georgia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgia can be accused of discriminating the Armenian community of Javakhk or appropriation of Armenian historical monuments but the arrests of Ajarian businessmen Armen Gevorgyan and Ruben Shikoyan is not an ethnic issue, according to an expert of Mitq analytical center.

“The incident is nothing but a result of anti-Russian policy. Arrests on the threshold of the OSCE and NATO summits are not accidental and aimed to set the international community against Russia,” Vahe Sargsyan told journalists on November 6.

He also noted that the detained Armenians are citizens of the Russian Federation and Armenia will be unable to interfere.
