RA government stimulates inspection reforms in ArmeniaNovember 18, 2010 - 14:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During the November 18 sitting, the Armenian government approved introduction of changes and amendments to its earlier decision on Organization and Conduct of Inspections. Armenian Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan said that the ban on implementation of inspections from now on will not refer to those state structures, which have introduced a system of implementation of inspections based on risk and got the approval of the Inspection Reform Coordinating Council. To improve a business environment, in 2009 the Armenian government made a decision to ease the tax burden of small and medium enterprises (SME) with the annual turnover of AMD 70mln, relieving them from inspection check-ups. At the same time, the government initiated structural changes. And in 2009 a Concept of Inspection Reforms was approved, under which all inspections transfer to check-ups based on risks. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan noted that the matter causes concern of SME representatives, which have applied to him with respect to the fact that they are relieved from inspections only until January 1, 2011. Nevertheless, according to the Prime Minister, the introduced amendments will facilitate implementation of the planned reforms. “We will reduce the corruption risks, which we face during check-ups,” Sargsyan said.
