STRATFOR: buffer zone against Russia should be created in Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of STRATFOR think tank George Friedman said that a buffer zone against Russia should be created in Caucasus.

According to him, the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border will be advantageous for Yerevan. “It is illogic for Turkey to spoil its relations with neighboring Azerbaijan due to Armenia. Let Armenia remain in isolation,” he said.

Sabah Turkish paper quoted Friedman as saying that the basic topic of Turkey’s negotiations with Armenia should be reduction of Russia’s military presence in Armenia, but not the Karabakh conflict.
