  Turkey ready to sacrifice Israel for sake of Arab world November 24, 2010 - 18:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkologist, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the RA National Academy of Sciences Ruben Safrastyan said that Ankara is ready to sacrifice Israel to gain a new place in the Arab world. “Currently, Turkey gives preference to its relations with the Arab world and Iran, as it has a common border with these countries,” Safrastyan told a round table on Trends in Israel-Turkey Relations and the Regional Context. “Turkey prefers to be surrounded by such allies, on which it can have an influence, rather than to be a military and strategic partner of Israel. It is basically conditioned by Turkey’s inability to influence the Israeli policy,” said Safrastyan. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
