National Cinema Center of Armenia director pleased with 2010 results

PanARMENIAN.Net - The director of National Cinema Center of Armenia, Gevorg Gevorgyan, is pleased with implementation of film projects in 2010.

During the December 16 news conference in Yerevan, he spoke of projects aimed at preservation and increase of Armenian national cinema awareness.

“2010 program included co-financing of film production, organization and celebration of outstanding art workers jubilees, screening of national films in the framework of international film festivals,” he observed.

Gevorgyan noted Kinoashun film festival among the key projects implemented in 2010, winning a wide public acclaim.

As Gevorgyan stated, 2010 film budget amounted to AMD 295 million, with Edgar Baghdasaryan’s Countryman and Harutyun Khachatryan’s Endless Return among the most costly projects (AMD 300 000 and 195 000 respectively). David Saakyants’ Anahit animated cartoon, to be completed in 2012, grossed AMD 200 000.
