4G network official launch in Armenia scheduled for December 20December 17, 2010 - 18:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - VivaCell-MTScompany will officially launch 4G network by Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in Armenia on December 20, 2010. At the first stage, the company envisages 4G network test-commercial launch, while in February 2011 the company intends to start the commercial exploitation of the network in Yerevan and then in Armenia’s regions, the company’s press service reported. The LTE network construction and development will cost $17mln, while the cost of license with a validity term until November 4, 2019, amounted to AMD 990mln. ArmenTel company also negotiates with the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia for provision of frequencies for LTE network construction. The company intends to introduce the technology in Armenia, as soon as the frequency resource is found.
