Newly-elected Yerevan Mayor swears to justify expectations

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan hosted the inauguration ceremony for the newly-elected Mayor.

Karen Karapetyan solemnly swore to observe the Armenian Constitution and laws, resolutions of Yerevan city council, serve for prosperity of the city and welfare of the citizens.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, in turn, congratulated the newly-elected Mayor, expressing hope for him to justify Yerevan residents’ expectations.

ArmRosgazprom board chairman Karen Karapetyan was elected Yerevan Mayor with a 50-1 vote on December 17.

On December 8, former Mayor Gagik Beglaryan resigned following an incident with a presidential administration member.
