7000 families who suffered in 1988 earthquake to be housed by 2013

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Urban Development Vardan Vardanyan said that construction in the 1988 earthquake zone will be completed by 2013.

“Although 6500-7000 apartments will be provided for families who suffered in the earthquake, there will still remain a necessity to build about 3000 houses for rural residents,” the Minister said.

1570 families were housed during the current year. 7000 families are supposed to get apartments by 2013.

As to plans for 2011, Vardanyan said construction of 38 apartment buildings will be accomplished in Lori and Shirak provinces.
