U.S. Senate to re-launch confirmation procedure of ambassadors to Azerbaijan and Turkey in 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - The U.S. Senate has returned documents on unconfirmed candidacies of U.S. ambassador to various countries to the White House.

In its comments, the Senate said that all the documents should be submitted to a new Senate next year.

Senators have blocked Matthew Bryza and Francis Ricciardone to serve as U.S. Ambassadors to Azerbaijan and Turkey respectively. Senators Sam Brownback, Robert Menendez and Barbara Boxer used their right to veto with the consent of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
