Passenger plane crashes in Iran

PanARMENIAN.Net - 77 people were reported to be killed in an air crash in Iran on January 9 night.

Due to heavy fog near its destination, the crew could not land the Iran Air-owned plane which was carrying 105 passengers from Tehran to Urmia.

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is clarifying whether there were Armenians on board.

“We know that 50 people were rescued. No information about the killed has been provided yet,” MFA spokesman Tigran Balayan told PanARMENIAN.Net
