Yerevan to host concert of Italian orchestra - I Solisti VenetiJanuary 14, 2011 - 12:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Within the framework of the cultural program for the year 2011 of the Italian Embassy in Armenia, a concert of the Italian orchestra - I Solisti Veneti - will take place at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet on February 11, 2011. Famous pieces drawn from Italian Baroque and Classic Musical Repertoire will be performed under the direction of Maestro Claudio Scimone, the Italian Embassy in Armenia told PanARMENIAN.Net Tomaso Albinoni, Antonio Vivaldi, Gioacchino Rossini and Ennio Morricone are among the composers purposely chosen for this performance in Yerevan. Special sponsor of the cultural initiative is Gagik Tsarukyan Beneficial Foundation. I Solisti Veneti was founded in Padua in 1959 by Claudio Scimone. It has made a reputation especially with Italian Baroque music. The ensemble has won numerous awards including a Grammy and a Grand Prix du Disque.
