A vast range of issues were discussed during the past year, with intensive political contacts continued. In April 2010, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan participated in nuclear security summit in Washington on the invitation of his U.S. counterpart. U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton’s visit to Yerevan in July 2010 became an important event in the development of bilateral ties. Last year, a number of Armenian ministers visited U.S. with many U.S. delegations paying a return visit. In 2010, U.S. allocated USD 41 million funding to Armenia, as well as USD 3 million of military aid. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
