Political Director of Lithuanian MFA: actions of Turkey and EU should be better coordinatedJanuary 15, 2011 - 12:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On January 13-14, Political Director of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Eitvydas Bajarunas participated in consultations of political directors of the EU member states’ foreign ministries in Budapest. Participants of the consultations exchanged opinion concerning priorities of the EU foreign policy in 2011. According to Bajarunas, the increasing influence of Turkey can be used in the Balkans, South Caucasus, Near East and Middle Asia. “To this end, the actions of Turkey and EU should be better coordinated,” he said. Bajarunas presented priorities of the Lithuanian Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2011, commented on the closure of the OSCE office in Minsk, as well as OSCE and EU efforts contributing to conflicts resolution in Moldova, Georgia and Nagorno Karabakh. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
