First tour of 71st Armenian Men’s Chess Championship launched

PanARMENIAN.Net - On January 18, Tigran Petrossian chess house in Yerevan hosted the first tour of 71st Armenian Men’s Chess Championship.

3 out of 6 matches ended in victories, the remaining 3 pairs drew their games.

In the first tour, Hrant Melkumyan, Robert Hovhannesyan and Arman Pashikyan gained victories over David Petrosyan, Tigran Kotanjyan and Artashes Minasyan.

Games between Samvel Ter-Sahakyan-- Ashot Anastasyan, Avetik Grigoryan - Tigran Petrosyan and Zaven Andriasyan - Ara Minasyan ended in a draw.

Championship prize fund is AMD 1,200 mln, AMD 800 and 500 thousand for winners of 1-3rd places. 1-5 places winners will qualify for Europe Championship; 6-8 places winners will gain entrance to Aeroflot Open.
