Armenia’s Prosecutor General, CoE Commissioner for Human Rights discuss March 2008 events

PanARMENIAN.Net - On January 20, Armenia’s Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan met with a delegation led by the CoE Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg.

At the meeting, the parties focused on mass disorders of March 1-2 in Yerevan, as well as investigation into the circumstances of 10 peoples’ deaths. The Prosecutor General submitted the CoE Commissioner a full report on the issue in question.

In conclusion, Mr. Hammarberg thanked the Prosecutor, expression hope for further work to be accomplished in this direction, with Mr. Hovsepyan, in turn, assuring him that the investigation is still in progress, Prosecutor General’s Office press service reported.
