  RA President: recognition of Karabakh referendum results only way to resolve the conflict January 27, 2011 - 11:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The only way to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is to recognize the outcomes of the 1991 referendum in Nagorno Karabakh, Armenian President said. “Presently, it’s extremely important to prevent resumption of hostilities in the conflict zone. I’m confident that we can avoid war,” Serzh Sargsyan told Echo of Moscow. “In 2007, co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group proposed the Madrid Document to the sides. However, Azerbaijan started interpreting the proposals in its own way, thus undermining the process,” he said. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
