  January 28 marks 19th anniversary of Armenian army  January 28, 2011 - 10:34 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - January 28 marks the 19th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces. Traditionally, the Armenian leadership – President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Speaker of the RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan – visits Yerablur Pantheon. In 1991, the RA State Defense Committee was established as per a governmental decision. On December 5, Vazgen Sargsyan was appointed as Defense Minister. On January 28, 1992, a historical decision on Defense of the Republic of Armenia, i.e. establishment of the Armenian National Army, was adopted.
