  Iran slams West for double standards in nations’ right to self-determination  February 9, 2011 - 16:48 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - Official Tehran supports the right of nations to self-determination, at the same time disagreeing with double standards practiced by West, according to Iranian ambassador to Armenia. “The principle usually prevails over others,” Seyed Ali Saghaeyan stated, citing South Sudan’s self-determination as an example. “However, in many cases, double standards are applied. U.S. refusal to acknowledge Hamas victory in Gaza Strip elections is a vivid proof,” the ambassador noted, urging for single standards where the nations’ right to self-determination is concerned. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
