Armenian Defense Minister brings Azeri ceasefire violations to OSCE MG attention

PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 10, Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan met with OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs as well as the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.

The Minister briefed the guests on the situation at Armenia-Azerbaijan border, stressing Armenian side’s strict adherence to ceasefire. Mr. Ohanyan expressed concern over Azerbaijan’s ceasefire violations, sniper attacks, adequately responded to by Armenian army, as well as non-fulfillment of Astrakhan agreement stipulating for return of hostages.

At October 27, 2010 trilateral meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents in Astrakhan, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on return of hostages and bodies of killed soldiers. The parties agreed to observe ceasefire and work towards strengthening the atmosphere of trust.
