Artsakh prepares to mark 20th anniversary of declaration of independenceFebruary 11, 2011 - 16:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 11, NKR President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on organization of celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of declaration of the Artsakh Republic. According to the decree, a state commission on organizing the celebrations was created to discuss and adopt a complex program of festive arrangements within the period of one month. The ministries of education and science, culture and youth affairs, “The Artsakh Republic Public TV and Radio” closed joint-stock company, the editorial staff of the “Azat Artsakh” republican newspaper were assigned to elaborate projects dedicated to the historical significance of the Artsakh Republic independence, provide proper mass-coverage of the preparatory and arrangement activities. The state commission on organizing the celebrations includes governmental officials, cultural workers and NKR intellectual elite. The commission is led by NKR President, with NKR National Assembly chairman Ashot Ghulyan and Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan as co-chairs, Central Information Department at Artsakh President’s Office reported.
