Yerevan to host Forum of Armenian Chambers of Commerce and Industry April 29-30February 17, 2011 - 15:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan said that Yerevan will host an Forum of Armenian Chambers of Commerce and Industry on April 29-30 to attract foreign investments to Armenia. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce will participate in the event, Hakobyan told the February 17 roundtable in the Armenian Ministry of Diaspora. She noted that, according to researches, only 10% of Diaspora’s opportunities are currently used. “Our problem is that many Diaspora businessmen are unaware of the business environment, legislative field and opportunities for investments in Armenia,” she said. Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan added for his part that Armenia tries to improve its business environment, which is not considered to be bad among 160 countries. According to him, the Armenian government has already taken a range of actions to this end – reduction in terms for reports submission, considerable decrease in tax payments, simplification of procedure for obtaining certificates, etc. “Enterprises already feel the improvements, while the results will become more tangible in several months,” said Davtyan.
