Tigran Karapetyan urges to avoid repetition of March 2008 events in Armenia![]() February 23, 2011 - 14:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Leader of the People’s Party, head of ALM holding Tigran Karapetyan said that bloodshed and repetition of the March 2008 events should be avoided during a change of power in Armenia. The situation in Armenia and struggle for the power changes should not be compared to recent events in the Arab countries, Karapetyan told journalists in Yerevan. According to him, Armenians will do it in their own way, without bloodshed, but will do it. As for the steps planned for power change, Karapetyan said he does not want to lay his cards on the table. He just said that a procession and candle lighting will be organized after the February 28 rally to commemorate victims of the March 2008 events. Besides, another rally will be held on March 13. Karapetyan added that the March 1 procession is not sanctioned by Yerevan Mayor’s Office. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
