ANC urges authorities to launch dialogue with oppositionMarch 1, 2011 - 18:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Coordinator of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan said that the big rally shows that the ANC controls the political situation in the country, while the people’s patience is being exhausted. “The people do not want to endure the current authorities,” Zurabyan told a rally in Yerevan. According to him, the authorities can meet the people’s demand and leave voluntarily. “The conflict between the authorities and people can be solved peacefully, through a dialogue,” Zurabyan said, adding that the people will be able to wait, if the authorities agree to extra elections. Zurabyan noted that there was hope for dialogue during Robert Kocharian’s tenure, but “Kocharian’s gang made another decision.” He added that there is still way for negotiations with Armenian incumbent President Serzh Sasrgsyan. Zurabyan warned that if the negotiations are not launched, even the ANC will be unable to control the people. He urged the rally participants: “Believe our decisions.” Member of ANC David Shahnazaryan said for his part that “ANC is going to come to power through extra elections, first of all, presidential.” Top stories President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
