Tigran Kotanjyan suffers first defeat at Fajr International Chess Open Tournament

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Tigran Kotanjyan lost his 7th round game with Gadir Guseinov (Azerbaijan) at the 19th Fajr International Chess Open Tournament in Iran.

The Armenian GM is the 22nd after 7 rounds with 5 points. Kotanjyan is 1.5 point behind the leader of the tournament, Sergei Tiviakov of the Netherlands.

In the 8th round, Kotanjyan will rival Amir Kowsarinia of Iran.
